Along the National Highway-1B, on the route of Anantnag - Sinthan - Kishtwar Road, is located this mesmerizing tourist spot called Daksum. Right after Achabal Mughal Gardens, this picturesque place can be reached. It is situated amidst the famous fresh water springs of Kokernag.

Daksum is a thickly wooded gorge covered with coniferous forests and undulating verdant meadows. It basically lies on the route of trekking towards Kishtwar. From here, one can take a trek to the Sinthan pass and then, to Sinthan Top. At a whooping height of 12000 ft above sea level, Sinthan Top is a magnificent place to be explored by those fond of natural trails and trekking. For accommodation in Daksum, there is a tourism department hut and Government rest house, though, they are not that well maintained by the authorities.

How to reach Daksum from Anantnag

Daksum is easily approachable through National Highway 1B that connects the two districts of Anantnag and Kishtwar. It lies on this route around 40 km from Anantnag. To reach this location, you can hire the buses run by JKSTDC plying on this road at regular intervals. These buses are easily available at Anantnag. You can also hire a taxi to reach this spot which is easily accessible through road ways only.
