The registration of industrial units is facilitated by District Industries Center in Anantnag and financial aid is provided by leading banks including PNB, SBI, JKFC, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, and Grameen Bank. In the year 2010, Anantnag bagged the award for City of Export Excellence for its high export figures and GDP at $ 3.7 billion.

Agricultural Industry in Anantnag
Agriculture is the nerve of business in Anantnag. The fertile land of this region produces delicious apples and farm products that are loved for their freshness and high quality all over the world. The district is a large producer of crops like wheat and rice in this region. There are apple orchards at nearby villages like Shopian and these orchards produce the best varieties of export oriented apples. These agricultural products of Anantnag give a big thrust to its economy.
There is an Agri Business Center as well set up in Larnoo Kokernag area of the district and this scheme is sponsored by the central government under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY). Anantnag is divided into 6 tehsils and 16 sub tehsils. The entire district has strategically centralized location and it is festooned with the most exotic tourist destinations of Kashmir. It has its location on North South Corridor Road which gives it easy accessibility from all the areas. However, the situation was quite grim in the valley some years back. Due to insurgency, the whole infrastructure of this place got collapsed and it reduced the business prospects here.
But with recovery of the valley from those turbulences, the city has shown unprecedented growth that cannot go unnoticed.
